Do people not know that not buying the next console is more effective and requires less work than harassing employees? I get wanting to send a message but not giving Sony money sends a bigger message than bothering some social media manager.
Depends what we’re talking about in terms of what “harassing employees” means. Obviously anything physical counts, that’s jus blatantly unhinged behavior. But is posting a meme or derogatory words about what Sony is doing in a tweet response to a Sony corporate account’s tweet “harassment?” What if it’s every single time the account posts a tweet? Seems like they’d say that’s harassment at this point but I say suck it up and accept the “repeated, prolonged” negative backlash now and forever for leading the charge on one of the most anti consumer decisions in the industry’s history.
Think this is towards employees as it says above not too an account that’s just Sony .

Well social media account interaction is part of customer service and it sounds like they’re describing the way people have been interacting with their accounts since their announcement so I certainly wouldn’t put it past them.

They stand to make money every time someone puts a data on their discs. Yet bc no one is buying physical, owning those rights has become a financial burden. Thus they’re abandoning it.
They aren’t leading any charge. MS and Nintendo already killed physical games on their consoles. You get a download code and license key, or in the case of MS, a handshake on that ‘physical’ disc. Sony was the last one putting the actual games on their media. It was YOU that killed physical media by not buying it. Sony owns, in part, the rights to Blu-ray and the software. They stand to make money every time someone puts a data on their discs. Yet bc no one is buying physical, owning those rights has become a financial burden. Thus they’re abandoning it.
